Description
The first article of the Universal Declaration of Human rights is written more than a dozen times in black illustrating the background of space behind a green earth with Beirut at its precise center. The text is written a further five times in the green of planet earth. The moon in its correct proportion to the earth is left as an empty white space.
“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.“
كُتبت المادة الأولى من الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان باللون الأسود أكثر من اثنتي عشرة مرة، لتصوّر خلفية الفضاء من وراء أرض خضراء تتوسطها بيروت في مركزها الدقيق. ويتكرر النص خمس مرات إضافية باللون الأخضر لكوكب الأرض. أما القمر، وقد رُسم بنسبة صحيحة إلى حجم الأرض، فقد تُرك على هيئة مساحة بيضاء خالية.
يولد جميع الناس أحرارًا متساوين في الكرامة والحقوق. وقد وهبوا عقلاً وضميرًا وعليهم أن يعامل بعضهم بعضًا بروح الإخاء.
